A New Man, New Car... Old Job

And it finally happened. I'm no longer single. I've found someone wonderful. After I had given up hope.

Actually, this happened a few weeks ago, but me being the realist (some would say pessimist) that I am, I refused to jinx it by saying anything. But over a month later, it's getting better all the time.

The basics: He's Mexican (a shocker in itself), 22 (I know, I know--he's young, but he's got a damn good head on his shoulders), he's cute as all hell, and he's good to me--damn good to me.

Now, I'm not naive. I know that just because things start off well, there's no guarantee that they'll end well. But, at this point, I have no complaints. We're taking it as slowly as we can. And we're both happy and pleasantly surprised. I have a feeling this one may stick around for a while...

Of course, New York became a topic of discussion. I haven't given up on the big city. I'm still as determined as ever to get up there. But, I am staying in Austin a bit longer than I had planned. I want to see where this goes. And Frank (yes, he has a name) is very understanding. When it comes time for the move, we'll see where we're at and make whatever decisions we need to make.

In other news, I gave in and bought a car. I'm not crazy about the payments or feeling tied down in Austin now, but it does make life easier. Coming and going as you please is a luxury that most people take for granted. I can visit my aunt after work now. I ran some errands this afternoon. Planning to go to a museum tomorrow after work. The car has opened things up for me. And, as Frank lives in San Antonio, I have a way to get down there now so he doesn't have to drive to Austin every weekend.

All in all, things are going well. Except for the job. Lots of bullshit going on. And I'm just burned out on data entry. Not to mention that I have tendonitis in my right wrist now. Fun stuff... I've been sending out resumes left and right. Let's hope someone gets back to me soon.

We'll see how that goes. Other than that, though, I'm just glad to have a good man at my side again.

Joseph, you lucky dog, you! I'm happy for you. It's great to be in a relationship, but it's bothersome when you're friends aren't. Only bothersome because you want your friends to be happy. And it sounds like you are! But yeah, tell your job to fuck off as soon as possible. I know ALL ABOUT being in a crappy job -- though a change in my outlook has made it more enjoyable recently. Anyway, hope you're having a good week and I'll write again soon. p.s. What kind of car did you get??
